It’s tough to not be able to make ends meet at the end of the week or month. Sometimes it’s not a full income increase we need, rather just a small boost until next payday.
A lot of the advice you find online is great advice about how to work from home, but what I find is that the ideas that are offered are things that take a while to build up into a good income. If you need money fast/now, those won’t necessarily work for you.
I’m definitely not against having a long term strategy that will grow into a cash machine in a few years (it’s why I blog, afterall), but when you need the money now, that won’t do.
So, I put together a few ways you can earn money on the internet quickly to meet some of those immediate needs. A lot of people take up working at home in addition to having a normal job due to a real need to get some extra cash. Even though you are working from home, it is still important that you keep track of the money that you should be receiving on payday. Something similar to this payroll software can help to make your life easier when it comes to setting aside the right amount of money so that you can support your family. It also has other benefits such as tracking the number of hours that you work so you can make sure that you’re earning the right wage. Who knows, you may even enjoy your side job even more than your proper job and you can start a business of your own with this sort of software. But for now, it’s just helping you to earn quick and easy cash. However, it is important to remember there are other ways to make some cash such as visiting the Monte de Piedad pawn shop.
1. VA Work
If you are not familiar with the acronym, VA means virtual assistant. A virtual assistant is exactly what it sounds like; a personal assistant that is virtual. You may be thinking, I haven’t the slightest clue how to be someone’s personal assistant. Oh contrar, you probably know more about it than you think. The more challenging VA’s will normally offer a answering service for doctors office, this way they’re entitled to more money and this gives them more experience working in the Virtual Assistant industry.
Do you know how to use any or all of the popular social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and others?
Do you know how to send emails?
Can you moderate an online group (i.e. watch for trolls, keep the drama at a minimum, etc.)?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you can be a VA. There are, of course, so many more things that VAs do, but these are some of the simpler ones that just about any one could do.
Large businesses hire VAs and small bloggers hire VAs. If you are new, you’ll probably have a better chance of getting hired by a smaller company or blogger, but if t pays the bills, it doesn’t really matter.
2.Freelance Writer
Contrary to popular belief, freelance writing isn’t overly saturated, and one can make a decent amount of money very quickly from it. You just have to find reputable companies and start writing! I don’t mean to over-simplify the process, because I know there are many professional writers that work hard and make a full-time living from freelance writing. But I think that just goes to show what kind of opportunity is available if you are a good writer.
Textbroker.com is one I am most familiar with. I have worked with them before, and there is always something to write about on their site. You just pick a topic you are interested in, select the job you want, and write. Easy peasy. They are really friendly over there, and they offer helpful writing tips so you can improve and get even higher paying writing assignments.
There are several other sites you can freelance for, but since I have not worked directly with them, I can’t tell you how they work. If you are interested in checking them out, they are Odesk.com and Elance.com.
3. Content Creation
I think this one is often overlooked because a lot of people don’t know that it’s an option. So I guess this is kind of like our little secret 🙂
By content creation, I mean creating a product that someone wants and will pay you money for. Since I am most familiar with blogging, I will point you in that direction.
No, you don’t have to be a blogger to create content for bloggers.
I am a part of several groups of content creators that offer their work to bloggers for sale. Two of the ones that really stand out to me and will probably offer the fastest turnaround if you’re looking to make some quick money are photography and recipes.
Did you know you can create a group (on whatever platform you choose, but the most popular is Facebook), and exclusively offer recipes that you have created and taken pictures of to bloggers? If you have skills with the camera, and can come up with a yummy recipe, you can bet that there will be a blogger willing to buy that recipe and those photos from you. Now imagine doing that a couple times a week and you’ve just made a nice chunk of change for yourself.
Who knows, you may want to start doing it full-time at some point 🙂
Along those same lines, if you are decent photographer, start taking pictures of any and everything you see. Start offering your pictures at a fair price to make some extra money. You’d be surprised how quickly that could add up for you.
So there you have it. Three ways to make a fast buck on the internet. If you are looking to quit your day job and work from home, you may want to check out this article for ideas of how to do that.
