Turmeric Cinnamon Tea Blast

This ice tea recipe is full of healthy ingredients and provides a delicious boost for the day. Turmeric plays an important role in natural medicine along with its role in the kitchen. Cinnamon is also touted for its health benefits, along with green or black tea and lemon – this is a tasty treat that offers you a healthy blast . . . er, boost.
Turmeric and Cinnamon Properties
Turmeric is a must-have food (or supplement) to fight inflammation. Curcumin, the key element in Turmeric, is a very powerful anti-inflammatory substance. Good for heart, circulation, and inflammation.
Cinnamon – using Cinnamon has been found to widen the blood vessels, and in turn addresses higher levels of blood sugar, and targets insulin resistance.
Turmeric Cinnamon Tea Blast
- 1-2 Tbsp. black or green loose-leaf tea*
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. (or more to taste) Swerve, honey, maple syrup, or sweetener of choice**
- lemon slice (optional)

Instructions
- Add tea, cinnamon, turmeric, and sweetener together and stir in small bowl
- Add just enough hot water to bowl and stir to melt and blend
- Fix tea as usual, steeped in hot water for 3-5 minutes in pot
- Remove loose-leaf tea
- Add sweetener and spices mix to tea and stir
- Pour into an ice-filled glass, and serve with a lemon (optional)

Contraindications
- Anyone with liver disease should avoid excessive consumption of turmeric to prevent the liver from becoming overloaded.
- Do not take if you have gallstones.
- It may interfere with anticoagulant medications.
