Tip 18: Free Family Fun at Museums
This post is part of a 31 day series in October called Write 31 Days. At Frugal Mommas, we are taking this opportunity to share our Best Money Saving Tips and Giveaway ($25 Amazon Card) each and every day this month!
Tip 18: Free Family Fun at Museums is one of my favorite tips as we use this one regularly and have planned entire family vacations around the free museum visits. The Association of Science and Technology Centers has a passport program where, when you join your local science center that is an ASTC member – gives you access to about 400+ more history and science museums all around the country. Matter of fact, they have added museums from around the world!
You can check the state by state list of participants to see if there is one near you. Be sure to make note of the details as museums within 90 miles of each other, unless they have come to other agreements, do not count. Although, in our local area, we’ve had terrific luck with the program and have found all but one local museum to be extremely cooperative. If you have any questions or doubts about it – be sure to call your local center to ask them.
We’ve enjoyed our free entry to museums all around the country. In case you haven’t been to a science center lately (there are history museums on the list too) you really must check it out. Our three boys LOVE it!
