Homemade bone broth can be made with leftover chicken bones and a pot of water. It doesn’t get much more frugal than that! The broth can then be frozen for later use. Freeze bone broth in ice cube trays and then pop them out and add to freezer bags so you can pull out just what you need for sauces and such. Mason jars can be used to freeze bone broth as well. Let broth cool down a little before adding to jars, and then leave a little bit of room at the top for expansion. Freeze in jars once it has reached room temperature.
