Curious about MLM companies? MLM stands for multi-level marketing. They have gotten a bad rep since their inception, and I can’t say some of it hasn’t been warranted. But I would caution you not to throw all MLMs out with a few bad ones. Understandably, most bloggers are much more receptive to using affiliate marketing instead. However, it is important to realize different affiliate programs have different pros and cons.
I have joined several legitimate MLM companies over the course of my work-from-home journey. I know there are legitimate MLMs out there, and by checking out something like The Economic Secretariat, you can see what MLMs are worth your time, and which ones can get in the bin.
Not A “Get Rich Quick” Scheme
What I have found is that often people give bad reviews about an MLM because they weren’t able to get rich quick from them as they had expected. There are some legitimate negative reviews, but I do believe that if you have the time to really work at making an MLM successful, it can be.
Some MLMs become very popular and for that reason, they seem to be overcrowded in the representative category. However, if you can find creative ways to market your business, you can still be successful. Especially with the internet at your fingertips, there are endless ways to market your business.
Getting Started
Another reason people tend to shy away from MLMs is because they usually cost money to start. But don’t let that deter you. If you’ve got a credit card then you will easily be able to afford this. If you don’t have a credit card then do some research to find the best credit card to build credit, you won’t regret it! I would suggest first becoming a customer of the company you are interested in. If you are interested in losing weight, test the products of a weight loss/nutrition MLM and see if the claims about their products are true. If they are and you are satisfied with the products, by all means start selling them yourself. Satisfied customers tend to make the best salesmen for a product because they have first hand experience of the awesome benefits. Once you know the MLM is legit, you’ll feel better about spending the money to get started with it. For example, one of my friends recently signed up to become a Scentsy Consultant after enjoying their products for years. Genuine passion for a brand shows, so it is important that you use this to your advantage when deciding which way to turn.
I recently asked several of my blogging buddies about their businesses and I got an overwhelming response from them. They were all very eager to share the companies that they believe in with you and hopefully help you to make a living right from home. I’ve included links to their companies below. Just click through to any that may interest you and find out what the company is all about and if it would be a good fit for you. They all have different sales models, so don’t assume that each company will have you going door-to-door. You may be pleasantly surprised at the way many of them do business. Feel free to contact any of the representatives if you are interested in the products or working with them.
