Supplies you’ll need to have on hand (or comparable) for water bath canning.
Instructions – You will need to start with clean jars. We are going to water-bathe them for just over 10 minutes, which will eliminate the need to sterilize ahead of time. You can re-use the mouth bands, but use new lids are needed to ensure a good seal.
Fill clean jars with apple butter, leave an inch of room at the top. Tighten lids and bands onto jars after wiping the rim of the jars clean (to make sure none of the apple butter interferes with the seal), place into water bath and boil for 10.5 minutes.
*disclosure – You alone are responsible for your health. Always follow current USDA safety recommendations.
