What happens when you decide to homeschool, bring the kids home, and then become disillusioned by the reality? From public school to homeschool can be a tough change. It is a huge undertaking and and brings about major life changes . . . we have tips to help you be successful.
I recently sat down with Ultimate Homeschool Radio on the topic of how to transition into homeschooling. If you are considering home educating or already doing so but feeling overwhelmed you will want to listen to the interview.
Taking the plunge into homeschooling seems scary, I admit. During my first year, I felt like I was drowning until I figured out how to relax and focus. Now, I am wrapping up my third year of homeschooling and the fruit of my hard days and tough seasons are evident. I can honestly say I enjoy home education! As there are many tools and services out there like being able to pay for research paper or online programs, this makes being home schooled a little bit easier. Just because you’re at home, it doesn’t mean you don’t get set homework and assignments to complete.
When I brought my oldest daughter home to begin homeschooling she was already showing signs of being broken down by the world. To say the least, she was having behavior problems and felt disconnected from our family. After three years of pouring into her (and her sisters) she has become my little girl again. Except, she is just much taller! We share meaningful conversations that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Our homeschooling journey has not been easy and we still have rough days. In the interview, I am very transparent with my real experiences and how I overcame those challenges. In addition to the pod cast interview I wrote a post too. Hit the buttons below to follow along.
